Facility Access

It is required that members provide identification via a valid Illinois i-card or visitor card to gain access to Campus Recreation facilities and services.

Forms of Identification

i-Card
Body

Valid i-cards can be tapped or swiped at ARC and CRCE entrance turnstiles. Possession of an i-card does not guarantee valid membership with Campus Recreation. Illinois i-cards are property of the University. Campus Recreation staff will confiscate misused, expired, or invalid i-cards and may ask the person(s) to leave the facility.

Persons eligible for Campus Recreation memberships but not issued an i-card will be issued an Illinois Visitor Card. Patrons can start by purchasing a membership at the Member Services desk, where they will be given a Visitor Card Request Form. The completed form can be turned into the Urbana ID Center to obtain a Visitor Card. Provided the membership is valid, a Visitor Card is only valid to gain access to Campus Rec facilities, and does not prove status within the University or allow the holder with access to MTD busses or the library.
