League Information

  • More details, rules, and expectations will be shared the first week of the league through a weekly email by the commissioner.
  • This is a non-contact league. Any kind of aggressive contact such as checking, pushing into the boards, etc. will result in a penalty. If a player is injured as a result of any other check a five-minute major will be assessed, and the penalized player will be ejected for the remainder of the season.
  • Hockey skates must be worn by all players. Helmets with full face masks, gloves, elbow guards, and shin pads must be worn by all players. A.K.A full equipment is required. Half shields are allowed but not permitted
  • Players must wear the jersey that was provided for them by the SRHL. The only reason they would be allowed to not wear it is if the commissioner were to grant them permission due to a size or quantity issue.
  • Locker rooms are provided for each team, and a schedule will be provided in a weekly email and at the check-in table before each game. NO CHANGING IN THE LOBBY PLEASE! All players must be inside the locker room when they are not fully clothed. Any player seen naked outside of the locker room will be suspended for a minimum of one game upon meeting with the commissioner.
  • All games will consist of 3, 15-minute periods with a 1-minute break in between. Stopped clock for all whistles - but we want to keep the game moving.
  • All refs are to follow US Hockey guidelines when making calls.

What to Expect for the Eval Skate

  • Four captains will volunteer or be randomly picked to lead the four teams in the league. Captains are expected to hold their team accountable throughout the season when it comes to sportsmanship and safety expectations. Along with reading weekly emails to be informed about the league and the schedule.
  • Captains will not skate during the eval skate to scout out players and note who they would like on their team. They are then expected to meet outside of the evaluation skate the week before the first game to draft their teams.
  • The eval skate will be run like a rat hockey but random teams will be sent out in an email the week of the skate. There will be no refs on the ice and there will be a running clock to keep the periods moving.

Goalies

  • All goalies play for FREE. They need to email the Ice Arena Coordinator or the Ice Arena email to claim one of the four spots.
  • All goalies will be drafted during/after the evaluation skate to a team. They are expected to play with the same team the whole season.
  • If they are unable to make a game, they are expected to let their captain know as soon as possible so that they can reach out to the commissioner to find a sub.
