Facilities

At University of Illinois Campus Recreation we provide over 450,000 square feet of indoor recreational space and 19 acres of outdoor fields, all with the goal of providing the University community with recreational and wellness opportunities.  Check out the individual facility pages to see just what each individual facility or space offers!

With six unique facilities offering numerous activities, Campus Recreation ensures that everyone can find a way to both have fun and stay active year-round.

Activities & Recreation Center (ARC)

Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) offers members the opportunity to rock climb, swim in an Olympic-sized pool, workout, and learn new ways to cook healthy meals. With wireless internet access throughout the building, and member services providing snacks and beverages, including locker rooms and equipment rentals, the ARC is your all-inclusive facility for a healthy and active lifestyle.

Campus Recreation Center East (CRCE)

CRCE is the secondary gym on campus. Complete with a state of the art aquatics center, CRCE provides patrons with fun all year-round. The facility also comes with a multi-activity court that allows visitors to play indoor soccer, roller hockey, floor hockey, and more. CRCE also offers and indoor track, racquetball courts, conditioning machines, and weights.

Campus Bike Center

The Campus Bike Center – a collaboration between the University of Illinois and The Bike Project of Urbana – is an educational center that offers hands-on experiential learning meant to empower people with the ability to fix a bicycle. The Campus Bike Center provides a connection between the campus and the community and promotes a collaborative approach to facility management and programming.

Ice Arena

The Ice Arena is available for students and community members to visit and participate in public skating, Learn to Skate lessons, hockey programs and more. Whether you are new to ice skating or skilled on the ice, the Ice Arena offers activities for everyone.

Complex Fields and Outdoor Center Playfields

The Complex Fields and Outdoor Center Playfields are outdoor facilities that provide areas to participate in over a dozen different activities, including basketball, tennis, baseball, soccer, and sand volleyball.

Illini Grove

At Illini Grove, visitors are able to host picnics and other outdoor events by renting the outdoor pavilion, which comes complete with a grill and tables. Illini Grove also offers a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, tennis courts, and picnic sites with tables and grills.
