Fitness Programs

In addition to the weekly offerings of group fitness classes, patrons can also participate in programs throughout the semester as an introduction or supplement to their fitness routine.

Free Weeks

Enjoy a week of free group fitness classes! Typically held at the beginning of each semester, Group Fitness Free Week offers patrons the opportunity to try new classes and consider purchasing a semester or annual pass. No registration required. First come, first served to the first 20 participants in each class. Schedule will be posted in Active Illini.

Fall and Spring Challenges

Start the season off on the right track with our Fall Back and Spring Into Fitness Challenges. Pick up a bingo card at the Member Services desk and complete fitness challenges to be entered to win prizes. Turn in your bingo card at the end of the week. The more challenges you complete, the bigger the prizes! Register in Active Illini.

Karma Classes

Join Campus Rec’s instructors for inclusive group fitness classes. Participation is free with donation of a non-perishable food item to benefit the Food Assistance and Well-Being Program, located in the ARC. Register in Active Illini.

Workout in the Water (WOW)

If you are looking for shallow, low impact but medium-high intensity water class, WOW is for you! These classes use water and equipment for resistance, muscle toning, increasing endurance and flexibility, as well as injury recovery and prevention. Exercises are performed to lively, motivating music and are easy to follow. No swimming skills needed. Join Claire Whetstone Prudhomme, an exercise master trainer and international presenter with 30 years of experience, in these fun and creative water classes. Register in Active Illini.
