Group Fitness

Get moving and purchase a group fitness pass at Campus Rec! We offer unique, fun, and motivating classes for all fitness interests and levels. Class types include cardio, cycling, rhythmic/dance, high intensity, mind/body, strength, water, and Les Mills!


Group fitness passes can be purchased in Active Illini under “Memberships” from the homepage or “Group Fitness Passes” from the left menu navigation. You must be logged into your Active Illini profile in order to view available passes.


How to Register for a Class

You will need an active membership and be a group fitness pass holder in order to sign up for a class. Registration opens three days prior to the start time of each class. Drop-ins are allowed for pass holders, however you will need to register upon arrival in order to check-in to the class.

  1. Login to the Active Illini web portal
  2. Click the button on the top left corner of the screen to expand the menu
  3. Click on “Group Fitness” and then “Group Fitness Schedule”
  4. Select the class that you are interested in joining
  5. Click the “Register” button for the instance of the class you want to join
Cancel Your Class Reservation

Please cancel your reservation at least two hours before the start of class in order to open a space for another member.

  1. Login to the Active Illini web portal
  2. Click your user profile on the top right corner of your screen and click “Profile”
  3. Click “Programs Registrations” on the left-hand side 
  4. Click on the dots on the right-hand side of the corresponding class to modify or cancel your registration

Cancellation closes 15 minutes prior to the start of each class and there may be a penalty for missed classes without a cancellation.


View the group fitness class schedule online or in the window below. In addition to this schedule, you can view the group fitness class listing in Active Illini. Have the group fitness schedule at your fingertips by downloading the Active Illini mobile app from the via Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Open the app and tap on the “Group Fitness” icon to see a daily listing of group fitness classes.

Safety Guidelines

Work out at an intensity that is comfortable for your fitness level. Classes are not a competition – please work towards your own personal goals.

  • Have your i-card
    • The group fitness instructor will verify your registration
  • Class capacities
    • Class sizes will be limited based on space and equipment availability
  • Bring plenty of water
  • Pre-registration is not required, however it is the only way to guarantee your spot in class
  • Pre-registered participants will be forfeit their spot if they’re not present 10 minutes prior to the start of class
  • Patrons are not allowed to enter a class 5 minutes after the scheduled starting time
