Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights is back this week, featuring Spikeball on Friday, October 14! Come out to the Sand Volleyball Courts (corner of Stadium and Oak St.) from 7 – 10 p.m. for FREE tournament play, food from Order Up, prizes, music and more!

Campus Recreation Facility Adjustments, Closures and Reminders

ARC Indoor Pool

Please be advised of the following ARC indoor pool adjusted hours:

Thursday, October 20 – No lap swimming from 5-7 p.m.
Friday, October 21 – CLOSED from 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. for Varsity swimming and diving meet
Saturday, October 22 – CLOSED from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. for Varsity swimming and diving meet
REMINDER: Pool well area is closed Monday-Thursday from 5-7 p.m. for programming
Outdoor Pool Balcony Closure

Please be advised that Campus Recreation’s outside pool balcony at the ARC will close for the season on Tuesday, November 1 and will reopen in the Spring.

*As a reminder: ARC’s outdoor pool is closed for the season and will reopen in the Spring.

Complex Fields and Outdoor Center Field Closures

Campus Recreation’s Complex Fields will close for the season on Sunday, October 30. The Outdoor Center turf fields will remain open, weather permitting and with limited equipment, until Friday, November 18. For more information, please visit our website.

Limited Parking, Increased Traffic, Limited Gym Usage

Please be advised of limited parking, increased traffic and limited gym usage on the following dates and locations:

October 20 – Flu Shots in ARC Wintergarden from 4-7 p.m.
October 29 – President’s Tailgate and LAS Tailgate, ARC Gym 3, MP4, MP5 & MP6
October 29 – African American Homecoming Dance at CRCE from 11 p.m. – 2 a.m., CRCE will close at 9pm.
November 5 – Dad’s Tailgate, ARC Gym 1
November 6 – Latino/a Family Visit Day at the ARC and CRCE
November 11-13 – Les Mills Super Q at ARC MP1 & MP2

Spooky Skate

The Ice Arena invites you to “Spooky Skate” on Sunday, October 30 from 1:30 – 4 p.m. Be sure to wear a costume and receive a FREE skate rental! You won’t want to miss out on this spook-tacular event!

*Costumes must be deemed appropriate and obey Campus Recreation policy.

Racquetball Clinics

Interested in racquetball or wanting to improve your game? You’re in luck as we just began our FREE racquetball clinics! Join us every Wednesday in October at the ARC racquetball courts 1 & 2 from 7-8:30 p.m. Learn from AmPro Certified instructors, providing basic and advanced techniques and strategy. No experience necessary!

Group Fitness Events

*Attention current Group Fitness pass holders! Bring your buddy to any group fitness class October 17-23 for FREE! For classes that require reservations, Group Fitness pass holders must call ahead to reserve a space for themselves and their buddy.

*Interested in becoming a Group Fitness pass holder? Have no fear, Mid-Semester Passes are here! Passes will be available for purchase on Monday, October 17. Visit our website for more information.

*In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Group Fitness is asking all pass holders to wear pink October 17-21 to be entered to win some exciting fitness giveaways. Wear Pink to stand together and fight breast cancer!

*In the spirit of Halloween, all Group Fitness pass holders are encourage to wear a Halloween costume on October 31 to be entered to win must-have fitness swag. Costumes MUST be appropriate and follow the Group Fitness dress code. Those who do not follow the dress code policy will be excused.

Scuba Clinics

Impress your friends and family by learning how to scuba dive here at the ARC! Scuba Session 3 Clinics are right around the corner beginning October 31 – November 9. Clinics run each Monday and Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Instruction includes details about gear and equipment, water entries, surface drives, in-the-pool training and more! Climbing 101 Clinics

Interested in rock climbing? Sign-up for our Climbing 101 – Intro to Climbing Class session 3 taking place Tuesday nights from 9 – 11 p.m. November 1-15. Learn and practice fundamental climbing techniques, gear use, wall operations, expectations and everything in between. Get ready to soar to amazing heights!

Healthy Cooking Classes

Tired of eating the same thing every week? Wish you could cook something special for your friends and family? Join us each Wednesday to participate in our Instructional Kitchen Cooking Classes at the ARC from 6-7:30. All classes are led by Instructional Kitchen staff and allow for a hands on experience. It’s a great way to meet new people and enjoy healthy, easy-to-make meals! The following classes are still available for sign-ups:
