Life Saving Incident at ARC

Last Monday, Nov. 7, Campus Recreation and Carle staff along with the Urbana Fire Department and bystanders responded to an emergency after a man suffered a heart attack while playing a game of basketball. Mr. Merrell is alive and well and we can’t thank everyone enough who was involved. For more information, please view the news video here.

Campus Recreation takes pride in training our staff and students in CPR/AED and takes the proper steps in making sure all AED devices are updated regularly as they had just been before the recent incident occurred. In case of an emergency, please be aware of where our AEDs are located in each facility.
