Staff in Outdoor Adventure Recreation primarily operate the climbing wall at the ARC. The entry level position is a Customer Service Assistant. They often work as belay technicians, supervise the climbing wall, and lead new-climber orientations. They also operate the point of sale system to assist members who wish to rent climbing gear such as shoes and harnesses, or outdoor equipment such as tents, canoes, and backpacks. You MUST have previous experience with rock climbing.
Customer Service Assistants
- Assist patrons by staffing the adventure center and assisting with equipment rental, outdoor gear reservations, and providing basic knowledge of indoor rock climbing.
- Assist with operation of the climbing wall; CSAs demonstrate proper safety and training techniques to potential patrons and assist with belaying patrons as needed.
- CSAs may be able to earn advancement opportunities to additional positions such Instructor and Route Setter.
- This is a security-sensitive position and requires completion of a background check before beginning work.
